It is the humidity that makes heat dangerous to human health. At 100% humidity humans cannot survive more than 35℃ without relief.

or strategic curtain-closing and window opening! Outside shade temp here 24 at lunch-time (thermometer in shaded flower border), maybe 28 at teatime. House quite cool at the moment (but curtains now closed on the sunny side) windows open all round. We shall have to keep on top of it though if we are not to fry as the building structure warms up... I will check over the tent for cooler nights!
What was noticeable was the wall of heat on going out of the S-facing back door. Radiation from E and S-facing walls making it feel like a furnace! I think "reverberatory" was a name applied to some sorts of furnaces. Maybe the charge was melted by heat radiated from the ceiling which was being heated by a gas or oil jet?

Wind is only 0.66GW and Solar is down to 1GW in the setting sun, nukes are lower than normal.

Thanks , think thats a good thought to export as much as possible , and a cold shower with the the immersion off, will be a pleasure too
Would be worth while a campaign to push renewables --------- not for having a cold shower------ but to balance the unreliable Intermitend grid ! of gas coal , nuclear and oil

A water sprayer is my go to tool when the Mercury climbs this high, any exposed skin or clothing will loose a lot of heat with even the slightest draught, the humidity is rarely high enough to stop the evaporation entirely, and of course drink a lot.
