More Renewable Shenanigans at Stinsy Towers

I got sucked in and ordered one the other day but the slightly smaller model KFR-531W/AG to go on the landing. We already have a hole through the wall there so will be really easy to fit. Figured it maid sense to run one of these instead of convectors off the excess PV..It will only be temporary as we will be building a new house shortly / hopefully.

Progress made so far: got it on the wall!



I've run the power cable in 2.5mm² t+e from a new 20A breaker in the CU following the route of the solar inverter's 4mm² t+e out of the utility room up the side of the house and into the attic.

I noticed the solar installer broke the 25mm conduit box and bodged it with black gunk, so I swapped it for a new one which was a faff because I had to disconnect the power and CT to the inverter, thread on a new box, and re-feed the wires plus my new one. Pulling the cables wasn't the most fun I've had but hey ho.

So the inside unit is up and the wires for it are in position, I'm going to wire in a fused spur next to the inside unit.

Running the refrigerant lines, fitting the condensate pump, and mounting the exterior unit, are a problems for another day (big project = series of smaller projects).

Can I ask though, isn’t power meant to go to the outside unit, and t outside unit feeds the inside unit?

All the American units I’ve seen on the YouTube videos are wired that way. However this one (and European/Asian units in general) are wired the other way around. It makes sense, they have a panel on the front of the indoor unit behind which are all the connections which makes electrical testing/inspection a breeze.
