Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
High 20%'s for UK onshore wind is perfectly reasonable.
8.7kWp PV [2.12kWp SSW + 4.61kWp ESE PV + 2.0kWp WNW PV]
Two BEV's.
Two small A2A heatpumps.
20kWh Battery storage.

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
I'm not sure what to judge it on? Are there other WT's uk land based that supercede that figure by a sig margin?
Truly I have no basis for comparison.
For a year 1 start up with new machinery teething problems, early dno curtailment issues, short separation early running hrs maintenance schedule shutdowns plus the most active months not being present in the count yet... It looks to me.

Share offer Capacity Factor Forecast for WT1 is 30.5% and WT2 is 36.6%.

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Thanks for looking that up Nowty, it serves as a very useful reminder. From it I work out that for our share, from end Dec through to middle of March we require a further 1398 kWh's to reach 30.5%, so a bit to make up. But in full knowledge that every year is different and there can be no guarantee where the weather is concerned as Ripple plainly point out in their share offer.
Just maybe this January heralds the start of a particularly windy year ahead in which case we could have some impressive figures to look forward to along with Kirk Hill coming on stream! What a journey we've embarked upon.

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
No worries AD, there have been a few interesting views on the CF and confirmation of the official anticipated CF figure. Its great to see it outputting like this. A validation of the concept and engineering standard.
Didn't someone post a link saying over 11,000 parts on WT1?

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
You have to compare it to a modern German nuclear plant. Which gets 96%.
CF over an hour is pointless and unhelpful. It's an energy grid, not an energy hour.

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
As long as the CF is enough to cover my entire gas and leccy bill and I don't have to pay for gas or leccy ever again, that will do for me.

Re: Part ownership of a Ripple Wind Turbine, fancy it?
Yeah you could say that but that's *almost* at the expense of everyone else.
Everyone needs all the generation they can get, but not wind instead of other more suitable things for the grid.
