SNAP! me n SWMBO out at different locations this morning. The systems actually went into standby for an hour at midday! January, blooming heck! Thank goodness for the HWT and its battery capability when the chemical units are full.MrPablo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 12:58 pm I've been able to start shifting some usage back into the day, less overnight dishwasher runs on off-peak.
It definitely feels like a corner has been turned!
3 vertical panels are maxed out at near 1.1kW right now, even the near flat garage array is pushing 1.3kW.
January?

There are times when you really notice the north/south divide - Was talking to a mate from Uni over the weekend - he just had 4-5kW installed on the south coast and was boasting about 15kWh for the day, while I'm pleased if I manage 3-4 at the moment!

Re: January?
It doesn't need to be far, I spent the day fixing wall hangers for a hammock for my granddaughters at Shoreham 40 miles south, bright sunny day so I expected to come back to a charged battery but was surprised that my installed ~6kW had only generated 6kWh and two washes and a loaf bake had consumed that.

Re: January?
We passed 6kWh PV generation today. Chucked the hwt on for a bit and ran washing machines. Incredible how the E/W system is pretty much pointless at the moment. Thank god for the Swiss army knife approach of the WBS!
Scored a HUGE amount of logs yesterday(about 1/2 tonne). Will solar assisted process through the coming weeks and airdry for next Winter.

For BTB who I'm sure is missing his WBS today, a self ignition morning, great way to start the day!.

Have you set yourself a rule that you'll only drink wine in the sunshine!Bugtownboy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 5:00 pm That’ll do

Re: January?
Absolutely
Trouble is, the weather seems to be getting better so I drink more wine
We’ve tried to create a Mediterranean garden so we can live an (imaginary) Mediterranean lifestyle - involves wine I think
Just love an outdoor living type thing - as long as it’s in reasonable warmth, though I live in shorts and crocs (or alternative) all year.
