Then I got a little bit hacked off.

"Hi,

I don't know your communication route to get the data off the turbine and to we the owners dashboards. It may go through Vensys and back to you? It may be a direct modem to modem link from the turbine site to a Ripple server in an office. Maybe everyone is out of the office busy on P3 and nobody is there to reboot the errant server? Maybe your servers are offsite and hired and need to be power cycled? I have no idea.

What I do know is that Ripple should be reviewing the current comms loop, reducing the amount of nodes/failure points in that loop and investing in the small cost units to remotely cycle the hubs and servers from a mobile phone (THE oncall company mobile phone). As a unique RE solution in GB you need to look beyond what is done for commercial sites and bring to we the owners better and more reliable data?

Especially as Kirkhill is on the imminent horizon and Derril Water just down the road and around the corner.

You simply can't keep using the current solution which is not fit for purpose. Imagine how the triple stack of investment output will look when they all read zero because Johnny forgot to switch the modem back on at site, the ups gave up and oh its the weekend.

What will we do then? Standby for a 'scheduled reset', wait for 09.00hrs the next day when someone reboots a server (smashing, wonderful, so little ventured, nothing gained).

This isn't difficult, get into it, get the solution in place, test it for robustness on Graig Fatha in the luxurious time window you have between now and Kirkhill coming online and fit it there too.

Thanks

Joe"

That’s 5 now, but what’s wrong with 1000W.
I am having OCD with my purchase of 37 watts too much.

Came across this on Ripple today. Not rubbing it in but thought you'd want to know.
There will be other projects for sure.

Done, that would be going in SWMBO name to spread the tax allowance.

Second homes are fair game, there are one or two on the list with PV and Batts home and away.

But Ripple is in a the bill payers name and portable, I guess it’s in his name ?, in that case he could register on the forum and be an additional member.
