I will even if they die,

I still have two ginger pieces in the wet tub still sprouting, on top of a kitchen cupboard under an led light.

Slightly off topic, but has anyone grown sweet potatoes ? If so, did you buy slips or propagate your own ?

Mmmm, they look good - I might have to try that method - I made a half-hearted attempt by just putting ginger in compost, but that didn't work

If you do try that method I have since found that leaving enough water to roughly cover half of the ginger in the plastic tub works better and the roots grow much quicker. And never let the water dry out or else the roots die quickly or are at least damaged.

How's the ginger going Nowty ?

We had a rather rich ginger and treacle cake, that the boss baked, at the weekend which was delicious and the taste of the ginger reminded me of this thread.

It certainly does look good! Am I right to think that this a plant that you can lift and remove a section of the rhizome before popping the rest of the plant back in to the earth to continue to grow?

Has your ginger been attacked by lily beetles? some of the leaves look to have their hallmark damage characteristics.
