A pleasant surprise this morning, 8kWh used in 24hrs. Gaining a true awareness of local environments impact on power required. I'm glad I've got my bike! Back home we can crack through 30kWh pv generation in a day even in August.

I don't know how long the 3 tier system has been.in play. Certainly, when I asked a longterm resident here they didn't know about it. Yet it is clearly displayed on the till roll type printed bill the meter checker leaves at the meter.
As a coincidence he was here 2 days ago so I actually got mine (woohoo). Had a quick look at my HSBC account and 16th June and also 16th July we were debited 310tl for a month. That's £9.11 for the month.
Various resources online say 20+GW solar pv in Turkey. I've not looked into it in any detail but when we were driving down the E87 & D550 Western Road running South we passed a huge amount of solar farms (& vineyards). I think there's still quite a wild West approach to solar here. I've seen hallyracket looking roadside installs at cafe's and they are getting a grid rate for export. I've seen single or double panel set ups on goat herder huts so far out in the wilderness that a fair chance of not being able to walk out in 1 piece.
If I get up to Istanbul at season end I'll keep an eye out and take some photos.

Well that's day 10 on ma tod. Daily laps in pool and bike run are doing me the world of good. As is the tanning. Made myself some beef and honey jalapeño burgers the other day. Really nice with breadcrumbs, flaked chilli and free range egg binder.
I am managing to live quite happily on £2 per day. £1.60 for food and 40p for power.
Cheating a little as the beer is ex stock from a month ago.
I've always enjoyed playing off against myself in this fashion but this one this time feels genuinely worthy. SWMBO reckons I'm a dafty (she has a point). Yet £2 a day...

I actually run myself at £120 a month at home (excl Amazon). Wouldn't fancy the further pay reduction!

Humidity has been on the rise for the last few days. Little to no wind. 34 degs & 72% humidity at 09.00 hrs today.
Not complaining as the swampcooler has been astonishing at creating a microclimate where I lounge with my book & G n T in the evening.
Really noticed it last night when I stepped out the microclimate for a fresh frozen glass. Walked into a wall of heat quite literally.
I'm just putting this up for anyone that doesn't want to fit an air con. These units are NOT competitive to aircon but are certainly a step and a half up from just a fan. Bear in mind that I have an 18,000btu inverter split aircon system in that large open space (10mtr x 8mtr x 3 mtr). It has not been needed. Very pleasantly surprised at that.
My unit is the kabel mini currently 8221tl(£240). I'm pretty sure I paid well under £200 for mine. I guess it's jacked up rrp?

Bought a T&G Bluetooth speaker from a local shop this morning. Main reason was a music upgrade for my mobile phone. Hoped it would be picked up by the panel too.
Woohoo, complete panel speaker upgrade! Adds a nice wee bass punch and voice clarity.
