Am I reading it right then the day ahead electricity wholesale price is equivalent to 7.6p/kWh on average for tomorrow (19th Jan)?

Be interesting to see what my variable rates are then on the Octopus Tracker tariff - one would assume if Agile goes that low for periods, then the overall daily wholesale cost will fall by some amount?

Octopus Agile negative this W/E and into next week. ? Although i do wonder if Octopus are making good money and buying these negative slots and then selling them to GO and Intelligent Etc. They probably have enough people signed up to theses TOU tariffs to be able to play the market. They were always against domestic batts playing the market.

Wow - So bulk electricity prices have fallen from 350 to ~ 70 since end of '22 - that's 80% lower!
Either we don't see the same reduction, or we weren't exposed to the worst of the peaks - thankfully

Its a bit of both, the government paid for the very large peaks as the unit rates were capped and regulated prices are based on a moving average so they lag coming down once they dropped below the capped value.

Thats why the tracker prices have been so good over the past year.

So using the Tracker tariff formula I multiply by 1.1913 and then add 10.5p to it. Gives me 19.618 p/kWh tomorrow. Nice.

It will probably drop a couple of pence from Saturday with all the wind and lower demand because of milder temeratures.

With all the wind coming tomorrow, the wholesale day ahead price for leccy has dropped from 7.65p to 4.95p per kWh.
