Now we have official commencement on the 27th Nov,

I know there are no more guaranteed test sessions, but maybe there might be an initial shake off the cobwebs test event ?
27th / 28th look possible, especially the 28th, looking like low wind over Europe and we have 3 nuke turbines down.
22p (SS) + 15p (export) = 37p / kWh still interests me if I can flip it from 7p / kWh import.
And low payouts might turn into more sessions.

DFS is now live but so far there are no takers by the main domestic suppliers, looks like a big boycott.

section 17 of the T&C says

If you also have an export meter associated with your import meter signed up to the Saving Sessions, you will be credited on your net reduction (import - export), in line with the NESO Demand Flexibility Service specifications.

so if simple import falls you get a credit, and I imagine that if you don't import then, an extra export will give an even bigger negative amount "consumed," so getting octopoints on top of the export rate?

The rate will be whatever bids are accepted, probably around 20p to 30p / kWh as they will be traded off against extra gas generation.

And yes if you export you get both the "bigger negative credit" and the 15p export rate on top, so as I export anyway its still worth doing. But avoid exporting on a non saving session day during peak period as that will lower your baseline. Instead if you have IOG tariff, game cheap slots during peak period and increase your consumption as that will boost your baseline.

I’ve seen a few people on Twitter getting very upset about the reduced rates. However free money never lasts forever and I’ll trade less money for more frequent/predictable any time.

Plenty see charging at 7p and discharging at 15p as worthwhile so anything above that is a bonus. And if you can rinse a decent baseline there is even more money on the table.

So I’m not as grumpy about 20-30p/kWh.
