Probably a PB for low off peak rate leccy here at Nowty Towers, less than one third of a penny.

On the 9th Jan, looks like I over ran over a half hour cheapslot by only seconds.
My Mum’s Octopus says, “Gotcha !”. :fight:

But I’m having the last laugh when I look at the export income.

Your inverter really does react very quickly indeed!
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
6x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (14.4kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

I think Nowty runs the inverter with a minimal constant export or something to remove any lag in the system - sorry struggling with the right terms as I have my head in a corrosion problem at the minute.

I'm thinking of doing something like that in the summer when I have an excess of solar PV as when I run the induction hob the inverter is pretty rubbish at responding.

My induction hob doesn't play nicely with the inverter either, particularly on a low heat setting it applies lots of very short bursts, causing me to constantly be importing a bit, exporting a bit. It is less of a drama now we get paid 15p for the export.

My boiling water tap is similar...

Yep with paid export at 15p / kWh I now run the Sunny Island with a constant 1kW export during peak times even in winter. But sometimes the GSHP (water source) starting up lets in a mWh or two. Yes that is a small “m”. :D

On the other hand, the A2A heat pumps play very nice and have very soft startups.

Sorry but its that time of year again, still with some severe shading on the rear garden panels, but all day sun. I post a similar pic every year in winter.

Today I have monstrous generation, over 30 kWh today. ;)

It's ok for you guys in the deep south. up in the frozen wastelands I only got 5.7kWh today.

Its LOVE day here at Nowty Towers but its nothing to do with it being Valentines day. :fight:

SWMBO is loving that its the first time she has seen any sun for a long time under the persistent cloudy gloom. :cat-smile:

I am loving it as today is the first day of the year that the sun manages to stay above the treeline against our main SW facing panels.

yes, it has been by far the best day of the year. Still cold (4 degrees apparently) but loads of sun and 4 kWh so far from a west facing roof. Thin cloud now, so down to 500W, but it has cheered me up no end!
2.0 kW/4.62 MWh pa in Ripples, 4.5 kWp W-facing pv, 9.5 kWh batt
30 solar thermal tubes, 2MWh pa in Stockport, plus Congleton and Kinlochbervie Hydros,
Most travel by bike, walking or bus/train. Veg, fruit - and Bees!
