Your inverter really does react very quickly indeed!

I think Nowty runs the inverter with a minimal constant export or something to remove any lag in the system - sorry struggling with the right terms as I have my head in a corrosion problem at the minute.

I'm thinking of doing something like that in the summer when I have an excess of solar PV as when I run the induction hob the inverter is pretty rubbish at responding.

My induction hob doesn't play nicely with the inverter either, particularly on a low heat setting it applies lots of very short bursts, causing me to constantly be importing a bit, exporting a bit. It is less of a drama now we get paid 15p for the export.

My boiling water tap is similar...

Yep with paid export at 15p / kWh I now run the Sunny Island with a constant 1kW export during peak times even in winter. But sometimes the GSHP (water source) starting up lets in a mWh or two. Yes that is a small “m”.

On the other hand, the A2A heat pumps play very nice and have very soft startups.

Its LOVE day here at Nowty Towers but its nothing to do with it being Valentines day.

SWMBO is loving that its the first time she has seen any sun for a long time under the persistent cloudy gloom.

I am loving it as today is the first day of the year that the sun manages to stay above the treeline against our main SW facing panels.

yes, it has been by far the best day of the year. Still cold (4 degrees apparently) but loads of sun and 4 kWh so far from a west facing roof. Thin cloud now, so down to 500W, but it has cheered me up no end!

As I have installed my "spare" Sofar ME3000SP unit to double up on export / charging flexibility, that means I no longer had a spare. :evil

That has now been rectified as I'd noticed some of these units are now going for under £200 on fleebay.

The problem I see with these is that they're all missing the wall brackets. There's one that's fairly local to me going for a song. I messaged the seller asking if it has the bracket but it got lost in a house move. By the time a new bracket has been made it's no longer a great deal.
