Re: Small things matter
What was your heat load requirement for the house and whats your flow temp ?

Mine is back on after the installer checked the connections to the pump, might have been a loose connection but a Vaillant engineer is coming to check it over on Wednesday.

Re: Small things matter
Thanks Fintray,
I have a total heat requirement (H+DHW) of 8,374kWh/yr so I am hoping to be sliding in under 6kW for an ASHP, that would be moving away from a grossly oversized condensing boiler that is rated at 28kW.

You'll be able to see my heat pump details here https://heatpumpmonitor.org/ but you'll need to reduce the "Min days" to zero and I'm under Aberdeenshire.

Nice - think they are physically the same size, just different max power rating.Fintray wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 1:10 pmI've got the smaller one at 10kW.richbee wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 12:35 pmSame as yours - 12kW Arotherm plusFintray wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 10:58 am

Mine is back on after the installer checked the connections to the pump, might have been a loose connection but a Vaillant engineer is coming to check it over on Wednesday.
My installer reckoned we could probably get away with the 10kW version, but as the minimum output power level is the same for both, decided that having the 12kW version probably made sense for worst case scenario.

I'm hoping to improve the COP once the house is back up to temperature and I can tune in the heating curve and go fully weather compensation only.richbee wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 3:29 pm Nice - think they are physically the same size, just different max power rating.

The size of the units is identical (big!), I did consider asking for the 12kW but decided to stick with the 10kW as the nearest to my heat loss calculation.
The graphs are showing over 13kW heat output so yours should be plenty big enough.
